Overview

  • H&E Equipment maintains, repairs, and leases heavy crane equipment to the general public.
  • KDW provided design/build services for H&E Equipment Services, completing the new tilt-wall facility in 2004.
  • The site is comprised of 7,000 sq ft of office space and 29,600 sq ft of shop.
  • The facility has 28-ft clear height, and is served by a 20-ton overhead crane. In addition, it includes a 2-acre laydown yard.

Need/Problem

  • The client needed an area to clean their large rental construction equipment and cranes, while still maintaining an environmentally friendly discharge.

KDW Solution

  • KDW designed and constructed an outside covered wash bay and worked with the client to generate an environmentally clean system in tandem with a multi-sectioned 5,000 gallon “weir” system. This “weir” system separates solids from liquids to allow for a clean water drainage system. It creates a “zero” effect on the sanitary sewer drainage system, and saves the client considerable money on an ongoing, monthly basis.
