LEED Certified, Green Commercial Construction & Development
KDW constructed the first LEED Silver Certified manufacturing facility in the State of Texas for Accredo Packaging. KDW adheres to LEED qualifications. LEED is an internationally recognized green building certification system providing third-party verification that a building or community was designed and built using strategies aimed at improving performance across all the metrics that matter most: energy savings, water efficiency, CO2 emissions reduction, improved indoor environmental quality and stewardship of resources and sensitivity to their impacts.
LEED was developed by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) to provide building owners and operators a concise framework for identifying and implementing practical and measurable green building design, construction, operations and maintenance solutions.
KDW also realizes that climate impacts building practices including LEED guidelines and that is why we take great care in selecting “green” products and practices that are applicable to the climatic conditions in any one particular area. For example, products and building techniques used in desert-type conditions may not be practical for the Houston area, and vice versa. KDW is extremely practical and knowledgeable when making building product recommendations for a particular state or area.
